    Swam for Forest Hills (summer), Howard County Y, North Baltimore Aquatic Club (seven years), Germantown Academy Aquatic Club of Pennsylvania (six years), University of North Carolina (college).

     

    Nationally ranked Age Group swimmer, broke 13-14 NAG record in 200 yard.  Breast at 216.54 in 1979 Senior Nationals  (third).

     

    Attended first National Junior Meet at 13 in Huntsville, Alabama.  In April 1978 was third in both Breaststrokes, 107.96 and 2:27.52.

     

    Won 200 meter Breast in 1978 at Junior Nationals in Santa Clara, California with a time of 2:43.25.

     

    Was fifth in 200 Breast (2:37.30) at 1980 Olympic Trials.

     

    Was second (2:15.03) in 1981 Senior Nationals at Harvard.

     

    Placed second in 200 IM in July 1982 to make the World Championships in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

     

    Won Silver Medal at Pan American Games in Caracas, Venezuela in 1983 in the 400 IM.

     

    Narrowly missed the 1984 Olympic Team with third in 400 IM.

     

    Won Senior National 200 meter Breast Summer 1984.

     

    Multiple world rankings highest 1983 (Fifth) in 400 IM.

     

    Participated on U.S. National Teams:

                1980-U.S./Great Britain Dual Meet

                               U.S./Team Meet in Hawaii

                1981-Spanish National Meet

                         National Sports Festival in Syracuse

     

    High School all-America (three years) for Mt. Hebron and Prep all-America for Germantown Academy, Pennsylvania.

     

     

    COLLEGIATE

     

    Won nine individual Atlantic Coast Conference Championships.

    Swept 400 IM from 1983-86

     

    Still hold ACC Records in 400 IM 411.32 (1984) and 200 Breast 216.34 (1984).

     

    Three time first team NCAA all-American 1983, 1984, 1985.
